Can I use this gauge set on home HVAC and a car AC?
Yes. The same manifold reads automotive R134A and R12 plus home HVAC R22 and R410A. You use the same gauges and switch service hoses or adapters to match the port type on each system.

Why are there four valves instead of two?
The fourth valve gives a dedicated port for a vacuum pump or recovery machine. You can pull a vacuum, close that valve, and then charge from the refrigerant tank without changing any hose connections.

Do I need a vacuum pump along with this manifold?
For correct service yes. After any system is opened, you pull a deep vacuum to remove moisture before charging. The fourth port on this manifold is sized to connect a standard vacuum pump.

Are the hoses safe for R410A pressures?
