About Training & Containment
Effective training starts with the right tools. Arbasa carries puppy training pads for housebreaking, clickers for positive reinforcement training, adjustable playpens for safe indoor containment, pet gates for blocking stairways and rooms, and agility equipment for active breeds.
How to Use Training Tools Effectively
Consistency matters more than any single tool. Clicker training marks the exact moment of the desired behavior — the click must happen within one second of the action for the dog to connect it. Training pads should be placed in a consistent location and gradually moved toward the door to transition to outdoor elimination over 4–8 weeks. Playpens suit puppies that need safe containment when unsupervised but shouldn't replace crate training for overnight.
Dog Training FAQs
At what age should I start training my puppy?
Puppies can start basic training as early as 8 weeks old — their brains are highly receptive during this period. Start with sit, stay, and name recognition using 3–5 minute sessions several times daily. Socialization should begin immediately and continue through 16 weeks for the best long-term temperament outcomes.
Do training pads slow down housetraining?
They can if used indefinitely, because they teach dogs that eliminating indoors is acceptable. They're most useful for apartment dogs or very young puppies. If your goal is outdoor-only elimination, begin the transition to the door as soon as the puppy reliably uses the pad.
